Block paving starts off with site preparation and excavation, our experts will first inspect the site and then excavate depending on the land and required depth. A minimum of 150mm of hardcore will then be placed to avoid any movement or sinkage.

TURFING

We know that nothing can transform a garden as quickly as a newly turfed area and at STL Paving and Landscaping we have the experience and knowledge to fit and supply that top quality Lawn turf!
Turf is the simplest way to create a new lawn and provides your space with an instant, usable area with no weeds to affect its greenery.
We undertake any preparation required to ensure your new turf is level and grows and stays green. To do this, we need to dig or rotovate soil to at least 150mm deep, improve the area with high-quality soil, firm the soil so it’s compact and level at the correct gradient to suit your needs, then add pre-fertiliser before finally laying the turf.
Maintaining your new lawn turf requires a little more than regular mowing. On completion, we will advise the required aftercare to keep your lawn looking new all year round.
Fencing

At STL Paving and Landscaping, we have experience in fencing everything from small gardens to a significant amount of perimeter and dedicate ourselves to provide the best quality fencing at an affordable price.
You can liven up your garden area with the choice of either: concrete post and gravel boards, post and rail, trellis, feather edge, closeboard or even bespoke fencing.
Our professionals know how to install or repair any wooden fence to ensure it will last as long as possible. When erecting your fence we make sure all post holes are dug out at the adequate depth and that we have the right tools to ensure the fence is level and plum to create that expert finish.
All of the timber we source is pressure treated, meaning the wood is placed in a depressurised tank that removes the air and replaces it with preservatives to protect from rot and insects.
Artificial lawn

Artificial grass is now extremely popular for garden lawns, around your patio and decking and even children’s play areas. As it’s durable and low maintenance, artificial grass is a perfect choice for a busy household with children and pets. Or if you like relaxing outside, you can sit and admire your luscious green blades all year round.
Preparation is key to keeping your artificial grass fresh with no weeds, bumps or creases so your space won’t become anything less than perfect! Our experts start by excavating the ground by 150 mm to allow for a solid base of hardcore. The hardcore is then compacted with a roller before 25mm of washed sand is compacted and screeded to your required level. To finish off, the weed membrane is rolled out to stop any weeds coming through before the artificial grass is rolled out, cut to fit, and fixed to a concrete base around the perimeter of the lawn.

Sleeper beds/walls

Sleeper beds and walls are very much the new trends in outdoor spaces, the modern look contrasts against most materials, giving elegance and character to your garden.
Different types of sleepers will give you the feel you’re looking for, from modern to a more rustic look. Available in pinewood or oak, sleepers are highly versatile and perfect for retaining earth, building planting beds or even wooden steps and benches.
At STL Paving and landscaping we specialise in doing things properly and preparation is key to all sleeper work. Using heavy-duty timber lock bolts for increased strength, the sleepers are fixed to 4×4 posts which are concreted into the ground to a minimum depth of 600mm. Each post is spaced approximately 1 metre apart for maximum stability.
All of the timber we use is pressure-treated and if the sleeper is in contact with soil, we will add polythene to the back, to stop any rot caused by dampness.
